Training overview

Kubernetes has become the de facto solution for modern microservices-based application workloads. Leveraging containerization concepts, it offers a rich ecosystem for application orchestration, accompanied by a complexity proportional to its capabilities.

Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) is the managed version of Kubernetes on the Azure Cloud platform. While it does not diverge from the underlying Kubernetes technology, it incorporates features specific to Microsoft’s Cloud platform.

This training aims to introduce participants to the concepts associated with Kubernetes. Key Kubernetes objects will be presented and explored.

The training will also cover AKS-specific features to help participants understand the essential elements for building a pattern based on Microsoft’s managed Kubernetes solution.

Learning Objectives

Trainees will be able to:

  • Describe the high-level architecture of Kubernetes.
  • Manipulate key Kubernetes objects using the command line and YAML manifests.
  • Differentiate between stateless and stateful applications and address these specifics in Kubernetes.
  • Understand the basics of application workload management in Kubernetes.
  • Distinguish between Kubernetes and AKS, and gain insight into the Azure infrastructure inherent to AKS.
  • Identify the solutions offered by Azure to secure and operate the Kubernetes environment, and, where applicable, identify additional tools that can address any existing gaps.
Prerequisites

Candidates for this training should have a basic understanding of Azure, equivalent to “AZ-900: Azure Fundamentals” or similar. Proficiency in Linux is required, and candidates should be comfortable with a Linux shell and YAML syntax.

Teaching Method

In this training, we mix theory with technical workshops to quickly make you operational. Additionally, each participant receives course materials at the end of the training.

One of our consultant trainers conducts the training. With solid field experience, they make the learning process both interactive and enriching.

For assessment, the trainer regularly asks questions and uses various methods to continuously measure your progress. This approach promotes a dynamic and engaging learning experience.

After the training, we ask you to complete a satisfaction questionnaire. Your feedback helps us to maintain and constantly improve the quality of our training.

Finally, we offer the flexibility to deliver this training both in-person and remotely, and it can be customized to meet your company’s specific needs upon request.

Accessibility

You can register for one of our training courses up to two business days before it starts, if there are still available places and you signed quote.

If you have specific needs related to a disability, please do not hesitate to make a request; we are happy to adjust our services according to the type of disability.
