AZ-1001 : Deploying Containers using Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS)
- Administrators
Training Overview
This training will teach you the basics and advanced techniques of deploying and managing Kubernetes environments in Azure. You will learn how to effectively configure, monitor, and scale your clusters, as well as deploy applications on Azure Kubernetes Service.
Learning Objectives
Trainees will be able to:
- Plan an Azure Kubernetes Service deployment
- Deploy and use Azure Container Registry
- Deploy an Azure Kubernetes Service cluster
- Configure an Azure Kubernetes Service cluster
- Deploy applications on Azure Kubernetes Service
- Configure scaling in Azure Kubernetes Service.
Participants for this training should have completed the “AZ-900 : Azure Fundamentals” and “AZ-104 : Azure Administrator” courses or have equivalent experience.
Plan an Azure Kubernetes Service Deployment
- Describe control plane nodes, node pools, and workload resources such as pods, deployments, and sets.
- Plan fault-tolerant application workloads using Azure Kubernetes Service.
- Manage basic deployment and management tasks, such as coordinating upgrades using Azure Kubernetes Service.
- Cluster virtual machines or on-premises nodes that share compute, network, and storage resources.
- Deploy and Use Azure Container Registry
Create an Azure Container Registry instance using the Azure portal.
- Connect to the registry instance using Azure CLI on your local machine.
- Push an image to the registry instance.
- Remove the image from your local Docker environment.
- View the image in your registry.
- Pull and run the container image from your container registry.
- Deploy an Azure Kubernetes Service Cluster
Create an Azure Kubernetes Service cluster.
- Configure Azure Kubernetes Service components.
- Connect to an Azure Kubernetes Service cluster.
- Configure Azure Active Directory integration.
- Monitor an Azure Kubernetes Service cluster.
- Configure an Azure Kubernetes Service Cluster
Enable and configure Azure Policy for Azure Kubernetes Service.
- Assign policy definitions to an Azure Kubernetes Service cluster.
- Use namespaces to logically isolate workloads and resources.
- Enable host-based encryption for Azure Kubernetes Service agent nodes.
- Deploy Applications on Azure Kubernetes Service
Provision an AKS cluster.
- Install the Azure Policy add-on for Azure Kubernetes Service.
- Assign an Azure Policy initiative to an Azure Kubernetes Service cluster.
- Validate the effect of Azure Policy.
- Configure Scaling in Azure Kubernetes Service
Manually scale pods or nodes.
- Use the horizontal pod autoscaler.
- Use the cluster autoscaler.
- Integrate with Azure Container Instances (ACI).
